I believe that we are all movers. Movement is an essential part of life. We begin our study of movement when we begin life. We express our selves with gesture, posture and stride everyday of our lives. That expression is unique. Pilates is a way to give that movement a stronger foundation for the life we want to live – it has for me.
It has been my joy to study movement and the human body in many ways; as a dancer, massage therapist, Tango instructor, and anatomy teacher. I work to see each client, each person clearly to support their needs.
My first exposure to Pilates was in 1989 when dancing in NYC and it has been a part of my training regime ever since them. Over the last 35 years I have studied modern, ballet, jazz, tap, flamenco and trained in Pilates, Gyrotonics, and Laban movement fundamentals. My work as a dancer has encompassed performance hanging from ladders, dancing in fountains, and dashing across the Broadway stage. I came to Main Street Pilates in 2013 and was inspired by the excellence in the teachers here – teachers who bring their extensive experience and continuing training to tailor sessions to meet specific needs. This is an Art, and I wanted to join them so I began my teacher training with Shauna Laszlo. In 2019 I was certified in Level 1 Peak Pilates. I bring all my years of moving, teaching, and understanding of the body to each session.
